My Role & Responsibilities
Lead Designer – collaborated with team members to manage & assess client needs, plan user flow, form strategy, and design all web and mobile screens.
The Problem
Global Conservation Solutions needed a website that more accurately represented the values of their brand. This meant creating an aesthetic that matched their own values and discipline; a grass-roots, people-focused, consulting firm that offers professionalism & strong communication.
The Challenge
The goals were two-fold. To help Global Conservation Solutions increase sales, and to drive prospective clients towards call-to-actions for free consultations.
The Strategy
To reflect Global Conservation Solution’s professionalism and experience we made client logos and testimonials an important focus of the homepage. I chose to keep design elements simple, pairing classic colors with their conservation photography. The goal was to keep the focus off the design and on the importance of goal oriented conservancy.
The Result
Global Conservation Solution’s was happy with their re-design and the professionalism of their new website. The aesthetic portrayed the professionalism they were after, and more accurately represented their strong resume of success in helping conservationist’s all over the globe achieve their desired outcomes.
Lessons Learned
When it comes to communication in design, photography is king. I often see websites that are flashy with lots of animation and intricate layouts. But when it comes to communicating effectively, sometimes it is best to just let your work do the talking.
This was the case for Global Conservation Solutions. Pairing classic colors with a simple layout let their amazing photography convey the important message they had to offer. Our design should always enhance the purpose, and never distract from it.
